Government offices in the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Asia are expected to close for the holiday around August 8, depending on lunar sightings.
Government offices throughout the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Asia will be closed in observance of Eid-al-Fitr. In most of the world, Eid-al-Fitr is expected to be observed between August 8 and 11, though the exact dates will vary by country depending on lunar sightings.
There could be processing delays in the weeks after Eid-al-Fitr, due to application backlogs that accumulate during this period.
Immigration offices in the United Arab Emirates will be closed August 7 - 11. Similar five-day closures are expected in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, and Oman. Government offices in Saudi Arabia closed August 4 and are expected to stay closed through August 17. In Qatar, immigration offices will be closed from August 7 through August 17. In Pakistan, immigration offices will be closed on the day of Eid, expected to be August 9.
